The 3 Most Famous Bike Routes on Mallorca
Whether you're an amateur or professional cyclist, you'll love cycling in Mallorca. Many consider the island to be the best place in Europe for cycling and this is proven by the number of cyclists who come to the island (more than 150,000 a year). It also has the perfect infrastructure and climate to enjoy the routes you will see below.

Tramuntana coastal road

This is a 110 km route that runs along the west coast of Mallorca, linking the towns of Pollença in the north with Andratx in the south. This route is probably the most spectacular in Mallorca. It climbs 2,520 metres and passes through places such as Coll de Femenia, Puig Major (the highest point on the island), Can Costa, Cap des Bosquet, es Grau and Coll de Sa Gramola before ending in Andratx.
An obligatory stop on this route is Puig Major. This climb has a length of 13.7 km, an ascent gradient of 818 metres and an average gradient of 6%. The panoramic views from here are breathtaking.
You will pass through some of the most beautiful mountain villages of the island: the Valley of Sóller, Deià, Valldemossa, Banyalbufar and Estellencs; ideal to stop for a coffee and a typical Gató de Almendra.

Cala d'Or - Sant Salvador Sanctuary - Cala d'Or

If you are looking for a shorter route, but also with beautiful views: this is the route from Cala d'Or to the Sant Salvador Sanctuary and back. It has a distance of 47.7 km and a cumulative ascent of 817 metres. Along the route, you will experience a 5.5 km climb to the Sant Salvador Sanctuary, from where you can enjoy spectacular views of the south coast of Mallorca.

This route will take you through places like Cala d'Or, Cas Concos, Felanitx, S'Horta and back to Cala d'Or.

Alcudia - María de la Salut - Alcudia

For those looking for a flat and scenic route in the northeast of Mallorca, this route is ideal. With a distance of 83 km and a cumulative ascent of 412 metres, this route will take you through the bay of Alcudia and nearby rural villages. Although there are no significant climbs on this route, at the end of the route, the cumulative ascent exceeds 400 metres.
